Things to do close by:
Downtown Roanoke and Center in the Square with its abundance of restaurants and activities, is right around the corner. Roanoke Memorial Hospital is 5 minutes away and Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem is only about 20 minutes away. Blacksburg and the Virginia Tech Hokies are only 45 minutes to the south and Liberty University, where you can watch the Liberty Flames play, is an hour east.
Only a hop, skip and jump are the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Floyd Fest in Floyd, VA, The Appalachian Trail and many Civil War historic sights that are within a couple of hours driving distance. You have easy access to the whole of the East Coast on Highway 81 which is only 10 minutes away.
There is plenty to do in the area, especially if you love the outdoors. From hiking, jogging or biking the Salem Greenway, to Mountain Biking some of the East Coasts best mountain bike trails, to kayaking and fishing the Roanoke River or Playing at Smith Mountain Lake.
The Roanoke River includes stocked trout, small and large mouth bass and blue gill.
We have a few rules which I’d like to let you know about. I know rules stink, but we’d really appreciate if you could have a quick read. Any violation of our house rules will be grounds for immediate termination of reservation without refund. Wow! That was heavy. Sorry about that, but it was needed.
#1 – No Parties or Events
We want to keep in good relations with our neighbors and keep our home in top shape for our future guests. Again, violation of this rule will be grounds for immediate termination of reservation without refund.
#2 – No Smoking or Vaping.
There is a $400 fee per day that will go towards removing odors and providing for lost reservations.
#3 – Pets:
Pet Policy: Must be pre-approved. We reserve the right to reject any pet based on our bias. We love cats but due to commonality of allergies among our guests, they are not allowed . There is a fee of $99 a stay for dogs. Animals are not allowed on any furniture and must be clean and flea and tick free. If exterminator or furniture cleaner is needed, this will incur extra cost to you.
#4 – If you wear fake tan:
Please bring your own linens as any linen stained by fake tan will incur a $100 replacement fee per item stained.
#5 - Please Clean Up Dishes
If you use any dishes during your stay, please either hand wash or load dishwasher and start. Detergents are provided.
#6 – Linens and Towels
Do not make beds or strip them. It is actually easier for us. Please place all other linens and towels on bathroom floor at check out.
#7 - Trash
Place all trash into kitchen trash can. We will dispose of trash from there. If you have booked a longer stay, you can take all trash to large trash bin at front of home.
#8 - Number of Guests
Ensure total guests matches your booking. If you have more guests than what you have booked for, you will not be covered under VRBO Insurance. This is bad for everyone! There is a $114 fee per guest per night over the 4 allowed guests.
#9 – Lights and Candles
We would really appreciate if you could turn off all lights when you leave the home each day, and at check out except for living room lamp and entry light at back door. Please put out all candles when going to sleep, leaving home each day and at check out. FIRE, not good!
#10 - Check Out is 11am
Our cleaner will arrive shortly after 11am to clean the property. We can’t stop her, she is a cleaning machine.
If you have booked for a longer stay and would like to have the home cleaned during that time, please give us a call and we will arrange for our cleaners to come in. Each additional cleaning will incur an extra cost of $100.
#11 - If you hold our home for an additional 2 hours past check out time, we will charge you for an additional day at our base rate without discounts. This does not mean you can stay an additional day. You will be removed and still pay the fee. WE DO NOT WANT TO ENFORCE THIS RULE! Please, contact us before check out if you are finding that you are falling behind on time. We would rather work with you than enforce this rule.
#12 - No illegal or illicit drugs including Marijuana. You will be removed from property without a refund.
